Project Overview

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) is a national nonprofit advancing bold public health policies to end the tobacco epidemic. Over the past two years, I’ve partnered closely with ASH to elevate their communications strategy through impactful visuals and targeted digital campaigns that drive awareness, education, and advocacy.

My Role

As a contracted communications strategist and program coordinator, I led the design and execution of a wide range of visual and strategic assets, including:

  • Paid Media Campaigns: Conceptualized and designed paid social and digital ad campaigns to support local tobacco control policy wins, especially around Tobacco Retail Licensing (TRL), flavored tobacco bans, and smoke-free housing.

  • Training Sheets + Toolkits: Designed user-friendly, branded training materials and advocacy guides to support coalitions and local lead agencies.

  • Infographics: Translated complex data and policy recommendations into clear, compelling visuals for use in reports, presentations, and advocacy efforts.

  • Website Graphics: Developed branded headers, carousel graphics, and visual content for ASH’s national campaigns and initiatives.

  • Billboard Design: Created billboard concepts and artwork as part of ASH's public awareness campaigns in key regions.

  • Annual Report Design: Designed ASH’s annual impact report, balancing visual storytelling with key data to showcase their progress, partnerships, and global impact.

The Impact

The creative assets I developed helped ASH strengthen its voice in the tobacco endgame movement—supporting successful local policies, increasing campaign visibility, and equipping advocates with powerful tools to drive change. The work contributed to measurable engagement growth across digital channels and improved brand consistency across platforms.

Why It Matters

Working with ASH allowed me to blend creativity with purpose—using design to support ASH’s bold vision for a tobacco-free future. In a space often filled with statistics and policy language, I focused on bringing clarity, emotion, and accessibility to the message, making complex issues approachable and galvanizing support for lasting change.
