ASH's New Zealand Endgame Campaign
Project Overview
In response to mounting pressure from the tobacco industry, 139 public health and human rights organizations united to urge New Zealand to stand firm on its bold, world-leading smokefree policies. This international call to action was shared through a full-page printed ad in the New Zealand Herald and a digital media campaign designed to reach both policymakers and the public.
My Role
I supported this high-impact campaign by designing the print ad layout, crafting social media graphics, and shaping the visual strategy to ensure the message reached the right audience with clarity and urgency.
Key Deliverables
Full-page print ad in the New Zealand Herald
Social media graphics for global partner amplification
Visual messaging aligned across print and digital formats
The Impact
The campaign generated international visibility and solidarity, reinforcing public pressure on New Zealand’s government to prioritize health over tobacco industry influence. It also showcased the power of global collaboration in defending effective public health policies.
Why It Matters
The campaign helped frame the issue as a matter of life versus profit — and added international pressure to protect one of the world’s most progressive tobacco control laws.
By visually uniting 139 organizations under a single, impactful message, this campaign showcased the power of design in cross-border advocacy.
