Saving Our Legacy (SOL Project) -Tobacco Endgame in Sacramento

Project Overview

The SOL Project (Saving Our Legacy) is a Black-led public health initiative dedicated to promoting smoke-free, safe places across California. In support of their Tobacco Endgame work in Sacramento, I developed a suite of print materials — including posters, press conference signage, and two audience-specific trifolds — to support education, coalition building, and public advocacy.

The materials were designed to elevate community voices, shift public narratives, and build momentum for a tobacco-free Sacramento through targeted messaging strategies for both policymakers and the general public.

My Role

I led the design and visual strategy for the campaign materials, creating:

  • Posters for community education and press events

  • Press conference signage for Sacramento City Hall

  • Two audience-specific trifolds: one for decision-makers, one for public distribution

Each piece was carefully tailored to reinforce key messages of solidarity, public health, and policy pathways — while maintaining cultural resonance and visual clarity.

The Impact

The materials helped frame a powerful public narrative at a critical moment in Sacramento’s tobacco policy movement. The press conference was well-attended, and the trifolds became core tools for coalition members engaging city leaders and communities. The campaign successfully sparked conversation around what a tobacco-free Sacramento could look like and how collective action could make it a reality.
